59 of my tweets that got 0 likes in 2025

Every year since 2021, I list all of my tweets that received zero likes or retweets whatsoever. In 2025, I have almost twice as many no-hitters as last year. Is the platform continuing to decline or is this a user error?

I love the audrey hobert album so much that I stopped listening to it after summer ended :(

Audrey Hobert’s Who’s the Clown? was my favorite album of the year. I had listened to it nonstop during a time when I was very anxious, but it sort of defined my summer. I wanted to wait until I could see her live to hear the songs in full again, as I thought it would be therapeutic. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get tickets. Seeing live performances of the album on TikTok have brought me to tears though. I did eventually relisten to the album in full, but only recently while I was working out. [120 views]

I searched “audrey hobert tickets brooklyn” and like 3 newly-tweeted posts popped up from different accounts saying they were selling their tickets. I guess it was triggered when people search? I DM’d a few people and I sent one person money via Chime (I KNOW I’M DUMB) but then they blocked me. I learned my lesson! Luckily it wasn’t that much money. [178 views]

Overall, 2025 was one of my favorite years in recent memory. I had a lot of new experiences that made me rethink my future, my relationships, my mental health, and my creativity. However, it was also one of the loneliest I’ve ever had. Typically I have found solace in the internet, chatting with long-distance friends and being inspired by technological advances.  But as hinted by this list, my internet is becoming lonelier as well, and brutally commercialized. I have less followers this year (maybe they were bots), and when I do get engagement on my posts, it is usually only 1 like. When I do get a new follower, they rarely ever engage with my posts. 

I don’t think the male loneliness epidemic is real, but I think the internet feels a lot less friendly. I am also aging, and possibly need to just find new spaces to inhabit online. 

Threads and Bluesky, I have decided, are not where I want to be. I rarely post there anymore, and my feed is not interesting at all. It feels like a retirement home for people who are stuck in the internet from 10 years ago. Twitter still feels lively to me outside of my own account, despite the amount of horrible people with blue checkmarks. 

In 2026, I am considering starting a new account that's not connected to my current one to experiment with engagement. Maybe I am down-ranked somehow after being on the platform since 2009? Maybe it's because I don’t use the X app? Sharing this list each year, I do hear from people saying they haven’t seen most of the tweets in the post. I will try to dig into this more next year!
