13 of my tweets that got 0 likes in 2021

Updated: Dec 27, 2022

I don't know why I tweet. I am in a specific bubble of Twitter that I don't necessarily identify with and I don't really tweet jokes in a format that get much engagement. The amount of likes I got on a tweet averaged to about 9 (if I did the math right).

Mostly likely the reason I don't get a lot of likes is because I just don't compose anything worth liking, but I like to think (like most) that I am misunderstood. Alas, I have tweeted things this year that have gotten zero (0) likes on Twitter up to this point.

Here are the 13 tweets this year from my account that have received no likes on Twitter.

1. January 22nd, 2021

This is the day Hank Aaron died. Not too long before this, I uploaded a video on my YouTube channel of the 1957 World Series that Hank Aaron played in. I wanted to share that video on the day he died. Typically YouTube links do not do well on Twitter.

2. January 26, 2021

This was when I mentioned how the My Pillow Guy is a weird American culture villain, and that if he was the leader of the Legion of Doom, he would enlist the recently disgraced Papa John. Perhaps too edgy.

3. February 2nd, 2021

I tweeted this on Groundhog Day. Not much substance.

4. March 29th, 2021

Again, YouTube links don't typically get a lot of engagement on Twitter. This was just me talking about how influential late 2000s DirecTV was for me.

5. April 20th, 2021

Not much substance here. This wasn't news to any of my tech news followers. I was just excited that Apple made colorful computers again. I probably won't buy one.

6. April 28th, 2021

This was a notification from Google I received that said I should remove my Google account from my HTC EVO 3D, a phone that came out 10 years ago. I thought it was funny to share that I still had a Google account on this phone from 2011.

7. May 14th, 2021

This was a link to an article about the numerous reasons why Connecticut state legislators did not want to vote for pizza as the official state food. Perhaps too divisive!

8. June 8th, 2021

I don't think anyone that follows me cares about this stuff.

9. August 7th, 2021

I tweeted those emoji randomly because I was bored, so I didn't expect anyone to like it. When I added context, still no likes. I would love to see other people's top emoji.

10. August 11th 2021

It seemed like every other day we were getting heatwave alerts this past summer in New York City. I thought it would be funny and/or interesting to make a scrapbook of all the times we had dangerous weather due to temperature, to share memories of the Earth slowly dying. I don't think anyone got that.

11. September 24th, 2021

This was addressing the many cartoon characters and companies that Dole will put on the stickers they put on bananas. I don't remember what specifically was on a banana sticker that made me tweet this, but it was probably a Disney character. Wacky! Maybe no one knew what I was talking about.

12. November 24th, 2021

I thought this was interesting and wanted to share, but I had nothing to say additionally about it.

13. December 21st, 2021

And lastly, I really liked this one. I was trying to make Christmas parodies of non-Christmas songs (seen here as a Christmas version of 3 Doors Down's "Kryptonite") and was writing them in Google Docs. First, I had to go into another tab to search for the lyrics of "Kryptonite" and then paste them in Google Docs. I thought it would be cool if there was a feature where you could search for song lyrics within Google Docs itself. (If this exists, please let me know!)

I assumed people would enjoy these parody lyrics to Kryptonite from Santa's perspective, to explain why I would want this feature. Flop!
