A new show from Aw, Would You Look at the Time about the past, present, and future of school lunch.

I'm starting a new podcast / video show under the Aw, Would You Look at the Time umbrella.

This year, I wanted to make a show that comes out more regularly, in order to sharpen my hosting, editing, and producing skills. A topic that I found myself having endless conversations about with friends was their memories at the school lunch table, and the food they used to eat there. If you pay attention to my work, you'll notice I think a lot about how much food shapes our lives over time. The school lunch table was where a lot of my humor and interest in food started. In fact, the very first podcast I ever did was recorded on my friend Matt's iPod in our high school cafeteria during lunch break.

So, I decided to dedicate an entirely new show to the concept. I asked Matt to join me in hosting the program, where we will discuss the latest news about school lunch, as well as invite a guest to discuss their memories at the lunch table. Matt is one of my oldest friends and makes me feel comfortable on a stage, so I am looking forward to engaging guests with him.

This first episode I'm publishing is Matt and me introducing ourselves and sharing our general feelings about our experience with school lunch. Over time you'll hear a lot more about our experiences. This episode is a bit low-key just to get our proverbial feet wet, but I have a lot of fun ideas about what we can do in future episodes.

Over the year, I hope to include a lot of different people from across the country (and the world?) to give their perspective on the matter. I'm excited to hear more about Bosco sticks, food fights, milk legislation, thermoses, secret recipes, and general school lunch experiences across time.

Though it's a video-first show on YouTube and Spotify, I am making sure podcast enthusiasts can still enjoy the show audio-only on all podcast platforms. (RSS feed here)

Enjoy! We would love to hear everyone's school lunch stories!
